Racial Discrimination

During the 18th century, in United States, there was slavery. Slaves were black people. They didn't have the same rights as the white people. Slaves had to work in bad conditions. Their living conditions were difficult because they were cramped. They were not allowed to marry with white people. They couldn't go out because they were not free. The black people were not allowed to meet the white people.

In the foreground, there is a black man who is standing with a pick. He looks tired because he may be working hard.

In the middleground, there are white people. A man is sitting and he is reading a book. They must be entertaining.

In the background, there are others slaves who are working in the fields.

The scene takes place in the fields.

The black man represents slavery. The white people look like royal persons. The landscape represents the fields.

The author wants to denounce racial discrimination because the black man is in the foreground and he is working but the white people are in the middleground and they are not doing anything.

We are shocked because the white people were cruel with the black people but we are scared for the next generations.
